WATER WARS

Each of these 6 mixed media paintings on syn skin measures 18" x 36" and includes oil stick, graphite, scraps of dyed silk, documentary photographs and handmade paper. Together, they form a sequential narrative in which tiny tanks battle for control of the water while jelly fish-like, mushroom-shaped bombs erupt around them. The paintings are an imaginative interpretation of the wars that are predicted to take place as temperatures rise and limited access to water becomes a threat to human survival. Following the images of the sequential paintings are a series of image details.
